Important:

On Monday 14th November, a strong earthquake struck central New Zealand. This has severely affected communications and travel in and out of the Kaikoura area, including Surfwatch cottages.

Everyone at Surfwatch is safe and well and life is slowly getting back to normal. However, the roads in and out of Kaikoura have been badly affected and there is no easy way for guests to get here except by air or sea, so if you plan to stay within the next few weeks, please contact your booking agent or make alternative plans.

Our internet and phones are working, so please call us if you have any questions.
